Tutor Perini Subsidiary Awarded $81.8 Million U.S. Coast Guard Housing Project in Alaska

(PMSI), has secured a significant new federal contract from the United States Coast Guard (USCG). The contract, valued at approximately $81.8 million, covers the design and construction of a major family housing development and critical water infrastructure improvements at the USCG Base Kodiak in Alaska.
The project represents another important addition to Tutor Perini’s growing portfolio of government and military construction work across the United States. Located at the Nemetz Park Site within the Coast Guard Base Kodiak, the initiative is expected to enhance housing capacity and strengthen essential utility infrastructure for Coast Guard personnel and their families stationed in the region.
Under the terms of the agreement, PMSI will oversee the design and construction of the Family Housing Phase IV project, which includes the development of 30 new family housing units. The homes will be delivered in 15 duplex-style buildings designed to accommodate military families living and working at the base.
The housing component will include 20 three-bedroom units and 10 four-bedroom units, offering modern and functional living spaces for Coast Guard families. The project has been designed to support long-term residential needs while improving the overall quality of housing available at the Kodiak installation.
In addition to the residential construction work, the contract also includes substantial site preparation and infrastructure improvements. Existing structures and site features will be demolished to make way for the new development, while utility systems, roads, sidewalks, and other supporting infrastructure will be upgraded or newly constructed as part of the broader project scope.
A major infrastructure element of the project involves the replacement of the existing Aviation Hill water storage tank. The current 653,800-gallon tank will be replaced with a modernized water storage facility that will support both domestic water services and fire protection requirements across the base. The upgraded water system is expected to improve reliability, operational efficiency, and safety for the military installation.
The new water tank and associated tie-ins to the Base Kodiak water system are considered essential infrastructure upgrades for the facility.
