Mendota Invest Taps STRABAG as General Contractor for Emonika North
Mendota Invest, a member of the OTP Group and the driving force behind Ljubljana’s landmark Emonika project, has appointed STRABAG, one of Europe’s leading construction companies, as the general contractor for the northern section of the development. This phase of the project, valued at over €80 million, marks a major milestone in the realization of Slovenia’s first multifunctional complex, expected to be completed within the next three years. Meanwhile, the tender process for the southern part of Emonika remains ongoing.
A Major Urban Development
The northern section of Emonika will feature a dynamic blend of residential, commercial, and hospitality spaces, contributing to the transformation of Ljubljana’s urban landscape. The development will comprise three apartment buildings, a hotel, an office tower, supporting retail premises, and extensive underground parking.
Strategically positioned near Ljubljana’s central railway station on the historic site of Emona, the northern portion of the project will provide 78,000 square meters of usable floor space. At its core, a 40-meter-high office tower will stand prominently on Dunajska Street in the city center, reinforcing Emonika’s role as a future business hub. Three residential blocks will offer a total of 187 apartments, with building heights ranging from 22.5 to 28 meters. Additionally, three underground levels will accommodate 600 parking spaces, addressing the growing demand for accessible parking in the city.
