KBR (NYSE: KBR) has been awarded an estimated $445 million cost-plus-fixed-fee contract through the Department of Defense Information Analysis Center’s (DoD IAC) multiple-award contract (MAC) vehicle. The task orders under this contract are granted by the U.S. Air Force’s 774th Enterprise Sourcing Squadron and are focused on developing new knowledge to enhance the Defense Technical Information Center (DTIC) repository, benefiting the Research and Development (R&D) and Science & Technology (S&T) communities. This recompete award, for the Joint Mission Environment Test Capability (JMETC) program, supports the Office of the Secretary of Defense’s Test Resource Management Center (TRMC). The contract spans five years and involves work at various Department of Defense locations.
The JMETC program provides a comprehensive test infrastructure that enables joint distributed test events. This infrastructure integrates live, virtual, and constructive test resources to effectively meet users’ needs while maintaining cost-efficiency. As part of the contract, KBR will research and assess unique testing and experimentation requirements to enhance the capabilities of the JMETC program. KBR will also work to expand the program’s reach by integrating additional test locations. The company’s responsibilities include improving test and experimentation connectivity, advancing the capabilities of these environments, and supporting TRMC in their efforts through research, data analysis, system development, evaluations, strategic planning, and assessments.
Stuart Bradie, President and CEO of KBR, emphasized the company’s longstanding commitment to supporting the U.S. military, stating, “Building upon more than 24 years of support to this customer, KBR continues to leverage enhanced capabilities for critical technology areas for the Department of Defense. This contract highlights KBR’s commitment and support to the United States military through innovation and technological developments.”
Over the past five years, KBR has expanded its support across numerous critical technology areas for the Department of Defense, including artificial intelligence (AI/ML), hypersonics, big data, research, development, test and evaluation (RDT&E) networking gear, multi-domain operations, cybersecurity, and event support for large-scale exercises and experimentation events. KBR has established itself as a subject matter expert in Test and Evaluation (T&E) Science and Technology (S&T) for DoD test and evaluation infrastructure capabilities. This contract reinforces KBR’s position as a key partner in advancing defense technology and supporting the military’s testing and experimentation needs.
