Implenia Secures Major Building Construction Contracts in Switzerland and Germany
Implenia, a leading multinational construction and real estate services company, has successfully secured a series of new, high-value building construction contracts in both Switzerland and Germany. The contracts span a wide range of project types—from technologically advanced data centres to luxury hotel renovations and sustainable residential developments. With a combined contract value of approximately CHF 200 million, these projects reinforce Implenia’s strategic focus on complex, large-scale developments that demand high technical expertise and decades of experience.
This set of new projects perfectly aligns with Implenia’s core strategy of pursuing challenging construction assignments in specialized segments, where the company can best leverage its integrated capabilities and value-driven approach. These new contracts include the construction of a state-of-the-art data centre in Beringen, the restoration of the iconic Park Gstaad Hotel, a mixed-use residential development in Aarau, and multiple projects throughout Germany, ranging from educational institutions to retail and residential spaces.
Cutting-Edge Data Centre in Beringen: Supporting the Digital Infrastructure Boom
One of the cornerstone projects awarded to Implenia is a contract for a new data centre in Beringen, Switzerland. Commissioned by STACK Infrastructure, a global leader in sustainable digital infrastructure solutions, this project involves a “core & shell” construction, where Implenia brings its well-established data centre expertise to the table.
This facility is the eighth data centre Implenia has built in Switzerland since 2020, underlining the company’s growing role in the critical infrastructure supporting digital transformation and cloud computing. Implenia’s selection by STACK Infrastructure reflects the client’s confidence in the company’s proven ability to deliver high-performance, high-security data centres that meet international standards.
The new Beringen facility will be built in full compliance with Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards. BIM not only enhances the precision of planning and construction but also supports a completely paperless workflow on-site, allowing all employees to work seamlessly through 3D BIM stations. This project is scheduled for completion by 2027 and will serve as a benchmark for advanced construction practices in the data infrastructure sector.
Restoring a Historic Landmark: The Park Gstaad Hotel Transforms into a Four Seasons

Another flagship project under Implenia’s new portfolio is the complete reconstruction and renovation of the historic Park Gstaad Hotel. Originally opened in 1910, the hotel holds the distinction of being the first five-star hotel in Gstaad, and it has long served as a symbol of Swiss alpine luxury.
Now undergoing a major transformation, the hotel will reopen as The Park Gstaad, A Four Seasons Hotel, with Implenia serving as the general contractor. Implenia’s responsibilities include “core & shell” works and the management of all carpentry operations. The project is spearheaded by Grand Hotel Park SA and managed by Squircle Capital, with Implenia offering advisory services from the early planning phases to optimize project delivery.
Sustainability is a cornerstone of the renovation, with the goal of achieving BREEAM certification—one of the most recognized global standards for sustainability in real estate. Construction is being executed using Lean Construction methods to maximize efficiency, reduce waste, and ensure timely delivery. Work began in October 2024, and the grand reopening is targeted for the winter season of 2026/2027, just in time to welcome luxury-seeking guests to a reimagined classic.
Aarau’s Aeschbachquartier Expansion: Sustainable Urban Development in Practice
In Aarau, Implenia has been selected as the total contractor for the “Nordbau” development—part of the ongoing evolution of the Aeschbachquartier, a vibrant mixed-use district adjacent to Aarau train station. Awarded by Mobimo, a major Swiss real estate developer, the contract follows a collaborative planning phase guided by “design to cost” principles to optimize both design and budget.
Implenia will carry out the full scope of work—from demolition to turnkey delivery—including structural construction, renovations, and interior fittings. A key feature of this project is the integration of old and new elements. Parts of the existing concrete structure will be preserved to reduce material consumption and support circular construction practices.
The finished building will consist of 122 new rental apartments and nearly 200 square meters of commercial space, all constructed to meet the Minergie-ECO standard. This sustainability certification encompasses criteria for energy efficiency, ecological materials, circular economy, and occupant well-being. Utilizing both BIM and Lean methodologies, the project exemplifies Implenia’s integrated approach to modern urban development. Completion is expected in mid-2028.
Diverse Building Projects in Germany: Education, Retail, and Residential Developments
In Germany, Implenia continues to expand its construction footprint with a diverse range of new contracts that address residential, commercial, and educational needs in various regions.
Among these is a school and shopping centre development in Heilbronn. This represents a follow-up project from a satisfied existing client, reinforcing Implenia’s reputation for quality and reliability. The project includes integrated learning and retail spaces designed to support community engagement and urban revitalization.
In Sindelfingen, Implenia has secured a contract for the construction of a residential complex, catering to growing demand for high-quality housing in the area. Meanwhile, in the region near Bamberg, the company is constructing a specialized retail centre that includes a supermarket, drugstore, bakery, and landscaped outdoor facilities. These developments support economic activity in both urban and suburban contexts.
Additionally, Implenia is undertaking the renovation of a large-scale residential building in Halle, involving more than 50 apartments. This project combines preservation with modernization, contributing to sustainable housing solutions in the region.
In another standout project, Implenia has been commissioned to reconstruct a logistics hall for Lufthansa Aviation Training in Neufahrn. The hall is being adapted to house four advanced flight simulators, highlighting Implenia’s ability to handle technically complex assignments within specialized industries such as aviation.
A Strategic Vision Realized
Together, these projects underscore Implenia’s ability to lead in multiple sectors—from hospitality and high-tech infrastructure to sustainable urban housing and retail environments. They reflect the company’s long-standing commitment to quality, innovation, and environmental responsibility, while strengthening its position as a trusted partner for complex, high-value construction initiatives in Europe.
By focusing on projects that align with global trends—digitalization, sustainability, and urban transformation—Implenia not only fulfills its strategic roadmap but also reinforces its role in shaping the built environment of the future.
