Foreign Media Group Visited Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway and CREC Headquarters

On June 8, as one of the activities of the 2nd CREC Trailbreaker Enterprise Culture Festival, CREC United China International News Exchange Center organized 25 foreign media reporters from Africa and the Asia-Pacific region to experience the Beijing-Zhangzhou High-speed Railway and visit the Badaling Great Wall Station, the world’s deepest high-speed railway station. He also went to CREC Headquarters for interviews and exchanges.

At the Badaling Great Wall Station, designed and constructed by CREC, reporters interviewed the survey, design, and operation of the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High-speed Railway on the spot. They took an 82-meter-long elevator to the station’s exit, overlooking the Badaling Great Wall. Subsequently, the journalists visited the Zhan Tianyou Memorial Hall to experience the “national glory through a hundred years” of the Chinese railway by visiting the life story of the “father of the Chinese railway”.

In the afternoon of the same day, CREC invited a group of journalists to visit its headquarters to learn about the basic situation of the enterprise, high-speed rail construction, overseas business, domestic engineering projects, and other related problems. By visiting the Trailbreaker Culture Exhibition Hall, the press corps appreciated the glorious history and profound cultural heritage of CREC in the past 100 years and its contribution to China’s economic and social development. They felt the pioneer image of a responsible Central Company. Subsequently, the relevant personnel of CREC and the press corps exchanged views on constructing critical overseas projects, scientific and technological innovation, youth training, and fulfilling corporate social responsibility.

Mousumi Islam, a reporter for the Bangladesh Daily, said that the highway bridge of the Padma Bridge in Bangladesh, which CREC built, was opened to traffic in 2022, and the people on both sides of the Padma River finally ended the era of the ferry by boat, and their long-cherished wish was realized. It is hoped that Chinese enterprises will build more high-quality transport infrastructure similar to the Padma Bridge in Bangladesh in the future. Afghan Bakhtar News Agency reporter Mohammed Alf Ansari (Mohammad Alef Ansari) said that after taking the Beijing-Zhangzhou high-speed railway, he warmly looked forward to Afghanistan having such an efficient, convenient, and intelligent railway system as soon as possible and welcomed more Chinese enterprises to invest in his hometown to achieve mutual benefit and win-win results.

The Beijing-Zhangjiakou high-speed railway is 174 kilometers long, the world’s first intelligent high-speed railway with a design speed of 350 kilometers per hour. The old Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway, which opened to traffic in 1909, was the first trunk railway built by the Chinese, and Mr. Zhan Tianyou created the world-famous “herringbone” railway design. More than 110 years later, the two railways meet on the ground and underground, achieving a qualitative leap from 35 kilometers to 350 kilometers per hour. Badaling Great Wall Station is located in the core area of Badaling Great Wall, a world cultural heritage, and under the old Beijing-Zhangjiakou Railway. It has created records such as the deepest underground station of a high-speed railway in China, the most complex underground tunnel group station in China, the giant underground railway tunnel with a single arch span in China, and the largest underground station of a high-speed railway with passenger lifting height in China.
