Fletcher Building Appoints Thornton Williams as Chief Executive of Concrete Division

Fletcher Building Limited (“the Company”) today announced the appointment of Thornton Williams as the permanent Chief Executive of its Concrete Division, effective immediately.

Mr. Williams, who joined Fletcher Building in October 2011, has held various roles across the Group, including Treasury, Insurance, and Risk, before becoming Chief Financial Officer of the Concrete Division in 2021. He has served as Acting Chief Executive of the Concrete Division since March 29, 2024. During his tenure as Concrete CFO, Mr. Williams played a crucial role in enhancing the division’s performance and was instrumental in driving initiatives related to culture, customer satisfaction, and sustainability.

Prior to his tenure at Fletcher Building, Mr. Williams held senior positions in banking and finance both in New Zealand and internationally.

Incoming Group CEO and Managing Director Andrew Reding commented, “As I transition into the role of CEO and MD, I have had the opportunity to work closely with Thornton and see his deep understanding of our Concrete business. Thornton’s extensive knowledge of the commercial drivers and competitive landscape of the Concrete Division makes him ideally suited to lead this high-performing segment. He is well-positioned to navigate both the current challenging market conditions and future opportunities for growth as economic conditions improve.”

Reding added, “I look forward to working closely with Thornton and the Fletcher Building Executive Team when I officially begin my role on September 30, 2024. I would also like to extend my gratitude to Acting CEO Nick Traber for his support and commitment during this transition period.
