Fastenal Company has announced plans to begin construction on a new regional operations and logistics center in the southeastern United States. The current Atlanta distribution center covers approximately 252,000 square feet, but the upcoming Carrollton facility will offer substantially greater capacity and room for long-term expansion. Company officials have confirmed that the development site provides enough space for the building to grow to as much as 900,000 square feet in the future if demand and operational needs require additional expansion.

Construction of the new distribution hub is expected to be completed in time for an official opening in spring 2027. Once operational, the facility will serve as a central point for receiving, storing, and distributing products across the Southeastern United States. The expansion is designed to strengthen Fastenal’s ability to maintain inventory availability while improving delivery speed and service reliability for customers in industries such as manufacturing, construction, warehousing, and infrastructure development.

At that time, the facility was modest in scale, operating out of a 50,000-square-foot warehouse in Atlanta with a small team that included just one truck driver.

Over time, the operation expanded as Fastenal’s business grew. In 2003, the distribution team relocated to a larger facility in Atlanta, which has served as the regional hub for more than two decades. Since then, the workforce has grown significantly, and the operation has become a critical component of Fastenal’s supply chain throughout the Southeastern United States.

Today, the AHUB team includes approximately 300 employees who support a wide range of distribution, logistics, and operational functions. These professionals manage inventory, coordinate shipments, and provide service support for Fastenal branches and customer locations across the region. As the company prepares to move into the larger Carrollton facility, Fastenal anticipates further expansion of its workforce.

Over the next five years, the company plans to gradually grow its regional team to keep pace with increasing operational demands. The larger distribution center will not only allow for higher product volumes but will also support the addition of new roles across warehouse operations, logistics management, and technology support.
