Esther Koplowitz and Her Foundation Honored by Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spai
As part of the second annual Academy Day, held yesterday at the headquarters of the Royal National Academy of Medicine of Spain (RANME), Esther Koplowitz and the foundation she leads were awarded the distinction of Honorary Supporting Member. This honor recognizes individuals and institutions for their significant contributions and longstanding support of Spanish medicine.
During a ceremony chaired by academic Eduardo Díaz-Rubio, President of RANME, Ms. Koplowitz received a medal and certificate in acknowledgment of her philanthropic efforts and the enduring commitment of the Esther Koplowitz Foundation to advancing medical research, education, and healthcare in Spain. Over the years, the Foundation has maintained a close collaboration with RANME, actively participating in initiatives that promote scientific progress and professional excellence in the medical field.
This latest recognition builds on a strong history of collaboration between Esther Koplowitz and the Academy. In 2023, she was awarded the Academy’s Medal of Honor, and as of February 2025, she has served as a member of the Board of Trustees of the RANME Foundation, further solidifying her dedication to the core values of medicine and scientific advancement.
The event, held in the Academy’s auditorium, was attended by Esther Koplowitz alongside her daughters, Alicia and Esther Alcocer, and her son-in-law, Pablo Santos. The ceremony brought together influential figures from the healthcare, academic, and political sectors. Other honorees included Dr. Ana Pastor, Executive President of AMA (Agrupación Mutual Aseguradora), and María Tormo, Director of Planning and Development at ASISA.
The celebration concluded with a Spanish wine reception in the RANME’s historic Patio de Honor, followed by an official dinner at the iconic Teatro Real in Madrid.
This recognition further cements the Esther Koplowitz Foundation’s role as a vital force in the advancement of the Spanish healthcare system, supporting numerous initiatives that improve the quality of life through social, scientific, and medical contributions.
