Builders FirstSource (NYSE: BLDR) announced that its 2025 charity event, held September 24–25 in Las Colinas, Texas, raised approximately $1.6 million in support of Blood Cancer United (formerly The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society). The event marked the 19th year of partnership between Builders FirstSource and the nonprofit, bringing the total funds raised to over $15 million for groundbreaking research, patient assistance, and advocacy efforts advancing blood cancer treatments and cures.
The two-day event featured a keynote speech by sports broadcasting icon Dick Vitale, who shared his inspiring life journey, memorable moments from his career, and heartfelt stories about his wife of 54 years, Lorraine. Vitale also reflected on his own battles with cancer and celebrated the recent news from his doctors confirming that he remains cancer-free. Attendees were further moved by remarks from Stephanie Matthews, who spoke about her 5-year-old son Jude’s ongoing fight with blood cancer.
