BAM and VOF PhilHavana Launch Construction of De Sax Residential Complex on Rotterdam’s Iconic Wilhelminapier
On the renowned Wilhelminapier in Rotterdam, a landmark development is underway with the signing of the construction agreement between VOF PhilHavana and BAM Bouw en Techniek for the De Sax residential complex. VOF PhilHavana—a collaborative venture between BPD | Bouwfonds Gebiedsontwikkeling and Synchroon—and BAM Bouw en Techniek have officially commenced work on this innovative residential project, signaling a significant step forward in sustainable urban development in Rotterdam.
De Sax is poised to become one of the city’s most distinctive additions, featuring two residential towers—Philadelphia and Havana—interconnected by an impressive architectural feature: a ‘golden beam’ that stretches high above the ground, connecting the two towers in a visually striking manner. The project makes exemplary use of urban land, incorporating 916 homes within a compact footprint.
