BAM has completed the Snugborough Interchange Upgrade, enhancing a major Dublin junction along the N3 at Junction 2. This multi-level project, co-funded by National Transport, represents a significant infrastructure investment designed to improve connectivity, reduce congestion, and encourage safer, sustainable travel in the area.
Key features include a second bridge over the N3 with dedicated cycle paths, improving accessibility to Blanchardstown Shopping Centre, and a new active travel underpass connecting Old Corduff Road, Tolka Valley, Waterville Park, and Blanchardstown Village. Collaborating closely with Fingal County Council, Clifton Scannell Emerson, and other partners, BAM has delivered a project set to transform transport across Dublin 15.
As part of the development, the underpass features a mural titled The Butterfly Effect by artist James Earley. Inspired by the orange-tip butterfly, the artwork celebrates the local wildlife and promotes ecological mindfulness.
Mayor of Fingal, Cllr Brian McDonagh, highlighted the project’s benefits, stating, “This upgrade strengthens our commitment to active travel and connectivity, improving access for pedestrians, cyclists, and motorists across Blanchardstown and beyond.” Minister Roderic O’Gorman also praised the interchange, noting its impact on easing congestion and supporting diverse travel options for residents of Dublin 15.
