Under her leadership, Aqua New Jersey continues to focus on improving essential water infrastructure while delivering dependable service to communities across the Garden State.
“I am grateful to the New Jersey Alliance for Action for this award, but I also want to recognize that my successes are not achieved alone,” said Aqua New Jersey President Natalie Chesko. “Every day, the entire Aqua New Jersey team embraces the profound responsibility of serving 185,000 of our neighbors. We are focused on delivering and safeguarding clean water. We do that by investing in our infrastructure and optimizing our operations to run efficiently and reliably.”

Recognizing Women Driving Construction Industry Progress
The New Jersey Alliance for Action honored Chesko as part of its annual celebration recognizing women who are helping shape the future of construction and infrastructure throughout the state.
“Natalie Chesko knows the value of construction and its impact on New Jerseyans,” said New Jersey Alliance for Action President Jerry Keenan. “Having grown up in a utility family, she knows the special role utilities bring to the impact of construction work in the Garden State.”
Keenan highlighted Chesko’s understanding of the connection between utilities, infrastructure development and community improvement. He added that her leadership reflects the mission of the Salute to Women in the Construction Industry, which recognizes professionals who contribute to building stronger communities through their work.
The award recognizes Chesko not only for her professional accomplishments but also for her role in advancing projects that improve public infrastructure and enhance quality of life for residents throughout New Jersey.
Advancing Water Infrastructure and Environmental Improvements
Aqua New Jersey continues to invest in major infrastructure initiatives aimed at improving water quality, reliability and environmental protection. Recently, the company completed six PFAS treatment facilities across the state, including the Hamilton Well 13 project, which provides drinking water service to thousands of customers in Mercer County.
PFAS, commonly known as “forever chemicals,” are a group of manufactured compounds that have raised concerns due to their persistence in the environment. Aqua New Jersey has taken a proactive approach to addressing PFAS concerns and continues working toward meeting updated Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards across its service territory.
The completion of these treatment facilities represents a significant step in protecting drinking water supplies and strengthening long-term water system performance.
In addition to PFAS treatment efforts, Aqua New Jersey is also focused on identifying and replacing customer-owned service lines made from lead or galvanized materials. These efforts are part of a broader initiative to modernize water infrastructure and support public health.
Currently, service line surveys and replacement projects are underway in communities including Phillipsburg Township in Warren County and Blackwood in Camden County. These programs help identify potential risks and ensure customers have access to safer, more reliable water systems.
Building a Stronger Future Through Leadership and Investment
Chesko’s recognition reflects the growing importance of leadership in managing critical infrastructure and supporting the continued evolution of the construction and utility industries. Through strategic planning, collaboration and investment, Aqua New Jersey continues working to address the challenges facing modern water systems.
Her leadership approach combines technical expertise with a strong focus on teamwork and customer service. By supporting employees, improving infrastructure and prioritizing community needs, Chesko continues helping Aqua New Jersey meet its mission of providing safe and reliable water services.
As the state continues investing in infrastructure improvements, leaders like Chesko play an important role in guiding projects that strengthen communities and prepare water systems for the future.
The Salute to Women in Construction recognition serves as a testament to Chesko’s dedication, experience and commitment to making a lasting impact in the utility and construction industries.
