Ambergris Cay Expands Luxury Accommodations with Waterside Bungalows

Ambergris Cay Opens New Waterside Bungalows as Part of Luxury Resort Expansion

Ambergris Cay, the exclusive all-inclusive private island resort in the Turks and Caicos Islands, has officially welcomed guests to its newly completed Waterside Bungalows, marking a major milestone in the resort’s ongoing expansion strategy. The launch introduces 12 new luxury accommodations designed to offer visitors a distinctive island experience centered on privacy, tranquility, and direct access to the island’s protected waters.

First announced earlier this year as part of a broader enhancement plan, the Waterside Bungalows are now fully operational and available for booking. To celebrate the debut, the resort has introduced a limited-time Founder’s Rate program that provides early guests with exclusive pricing and additional benefits.

Situated along the calm inland waters of the resort’s expansive 1,100-acre private island, the new accommodations present an alternative to Ambergris Cay’s established beachfront lodging options. While the resort’s Beachfront Bungalows are positioned along sandy ocean-facing shores with sweeping sea views, the Waterside Bungalows overlook the island’s sheltered sound, an area known for its calm and crystal-clear waters.

This setting offers guests a more peaceful and intimate connection to the surrounding environment. The protected waters create ideal conditions for activities such as kayaking and paddleboarding, allowing visitors to launch directly from their private terraces and explore the island’s scenic coastline at their own pace.

The location of the Waterside Bungalows also provides convenient access to many of the resort’s key amenities. Positioned near the Club House, dining venues, recreational facilities, and gathering spaces, the accommodations are particularly attractive for families, groups of friends, and couples traveling together who want easy access to the resort’s central services while maintaining privacy and comfort.

The newly introduced collection consists of twelve luxury residences designed to accommodate a variety of travel preferences and group sizes.

Six of the accommodations are one-bedroom residences measuring approximately 1,600 square feet. These units are ideal for couples, honeymooners, and small families seeking a private island retreat with spacious indoor and outdoor living areas.

The remaining six residences are two-bedroom accommodations spanning approximately 2,257 square feet. Designed with larger groups and families in mind, these residences provide generous shared living spaces while preserving privacy through separate sleeping quarters and thoughtfully planned layouts.

Each Waterside Bungalow incorporates a range of upscale features intended to blend luxury with the island’s natural surroundings. Guests can enjoy private heated plunge pools, shaded outdoor terraces, and expansive indoor-outdoor living areas framed by floor-to-ceiling glass. The design emphasizes natural light, panoramic views, and seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces.

To encourage exploration of the island’s waterways, every bungalow includes complimentary kayaks and paddleboards. These amenities allow guests to take advantage of the calm waters directly outside their accommodations while experiencing the natural beauty of the island from a unique perspective.

Ambergris Cay’s expansion efforts extend beyond accommodations. Resort officials have announced plans to introduce a new children’s club later this year near the Waterside Bungalows. The facility is expected to further strengthen the property’s family-oriented offerings by providing dedicated activities and experiences designed for younger guests.

The addition reflects growing demand among luxury travelers for destinations that cater to multigenerational vacations while maintaining the high standards of exclusivity and personalized service associated with private island resorts.

According to Andreas Naegele, Vice President of Hospitality at Waterloo Hotel Management Ltd., the Waterside Bungalows were developed with a deliberate focus on preserving the character and natural environment of Ambergris Cay.

Naegele noted that every expansion undertaken by the resort is guided by principles that prioritize privacy, spaciousness, and environmental sensitivity. He explained that the new accommodations were designed to offer a quieter and more immersive way for guests to experience the island while maintaining a strong connection to the surrounding landscape.

Beyond the new accommodations, guests staying in the Waterside Bungalows receive full access to Ambergris Cay’s extensive all-inclusive amenities and services.

Dining experiences at the resort feature globally inspired cuisine prepared using fresh ingredients and customized to guest preferences. Personalized service remains a hallmark of the property, with dedicated island hosts available to assist guests throughout their stay.

Recreational offerings include a wide range of land and water-based activities. Visitors can enjoy non-motorized water sports, yoga sessions, tennis, pickleball, and guided outdoor experiences. The resort also provides e-bikes for exploring the island and offers bone fishing lessons for guests interested in one of the region’s most popular sporting activities.

Evening experiences include beach bonfires and social gatherings that allow guests to connect while enjoying the island’s natural beauty. One of the resort’s signature attractions remains its floating Hangover Tiki Bar, which has become a distinctive feature of the Ambergris Cay guest experience.

Accessibility continues to be a key advantage for the private island destination. Guests traveling by private aircraft can land directly on the island using one of the Caribbean’s longest private runways. Those flying commercially can access the resort through direct flights from several major U.S. cities to Providenciales, followed by a complimentary transfer flight to Ambergris Cay.

Additional travel options include direct American Airlines service from Miami to South Caicos, where guests receive complimentary transportation to the island resort.

To commemorate the launch of the Waterside Bungalows, Ambergris Cay has introduced a special Founder’s Rate promotion for early guests. The limited-time offer includes a 20 percent discount on accommodations, a complimentary 30-minute couples spa treatment, and an exclusive waterside experience created specifically for guests staying in the new residences.

The promotional package is available for bookings made by August 31, 2026, for stays scheduled through December 17, 2027. Resort officials note that the Founder’s Rate is being offered in limited quantities and will not be extended beyond the introductory period.

With the opening of the Waterside Bungalows, Ambergris Cay continues to expand its luxury hospitality offerings while maintaining its focus on privacy, personalized service, and immersive island experiences. The addition enhances the resort’s ability to serve a broader range of travelers while reinforcing its position as one of the Caribbean’s premier private island destinations.
