AECOM, a leading global infrastructure consulting firm, has announced a new lease for a 23,000-square-foot full floor at One Prudential Plaza (Pru Plaza) in Chicago’s East Loop. This strategic move, set for December 2024, will consolidate AECOM’s Chicago-area offices and bring together 432 employees in a single location, enhancing collaboration and providing access to advanced technology and amenities.
“Our Chicago team has been instrumental in delivering some of the city’s most critical and iconic infrastructure projects,” said Matt Crane, Regional Chief Executive of AECOM’s U.S. West business. “This investment underscores our commitment to the region, and Pru Plaza will support our continued growth, allowing us to attract top talent and build on our current success as Chicago evolves.”
Reflecting AECOM’s Freedom to Grow philosophy, the new office space is designed to be flexible and adaptable. It features various settings that can transform from work hubs to social meeting areas and event spaces, fostering dynamic and engaging experiences for both clients and the community. The Chicago office, which has previously hosted events like the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise outreach program and the ACE Mentor Program, plans to expand its community involvement with a new lecture series aimed at STEAM students interested in the AEC industry.
Denise Casalino, Executive Vice President and Chief Growth Officer for AECOM’s U.S. West region, commented, “The workplace of the future should inspire employees and facilitate collaboration. Our new space at Pru Plaza exemplifies this, providing an environment where we can integrate our capabilities to better serve our clients and connect with the community.”
In Chicago, AECOM actively supports professional and community organizations such as Professional Women in Construction, American Council of Engineering Companies, The American Institute of Architects, and the Hispanic American Construction Industry Association, among others. The firm has also been involved in significant regional projects, including the reconstruction of the I-55/Lake Shore Drive Interchange, 31st Street Harbor, 41st and 43rd Street Pedestrian Bridges, and Midway Airport. Currently, AECOM is working on the O’Hare 21 initiative, marking the most significant expansion in the airport’s history.
