AECOM Secures Renewal on Wessex Water’s Capital Delivery Framework

AECOM (NYSE: ACM), a global leader in infrastructure consulting, has announced its top placement on Wessex Water’s new Capital Delivery Framework as the lead design consultant. This appointment positions AECOM to support Wessex Water’s planned £3.7 billion investment from 2025 to 2030, aimed at improving services for its 2.9 million customers across the South West of England. The investment focuses on enhancing wastewater treatment, environmental protection, and ensuring water availability.

“We are thrilled to extend our long-standing partnership with Wessex Water, contributing to vital investments in sustainable waterways and reliable water services for millions in the UK,” said Colin Wood, Chief Executive of AECOM’s Europe and India region. “Our teams are already delivering transformative projects, leveraging technical expertise and innovation to strengthen existing infrastructure resilience.”

AECOM’s re-appointment to Lot 2 – Design Consultants is for an initial six-year term, with an option to extend for an additional five years. Under the framework, AECOM will provide multidisciplinary design services, covering everything from initial concept design to detailed engineering and construction support, addressing Wessex Water’s water and wastewater systems during the upcoming AMP8 (Asset Management Period).

“As utilities across the UK accelerate their AMP8 investments, we are honored to lead Wessex Water’s capital improvement initiatives, bringing forward a new era of sustainable water projects,” said Beverley Stinson, Chief Executive of AECOM’s global Water business. “Our proven success in modernizing major water infrastructure worldwide positions us well to achieve our goal of doubling our water business organically within the next five years.”

Working collaboratively with other framework suppliers, AECOM will help Wessex Water deliver its ‘8 Outcomes,’ which include net-zero carbon goals, biodiversity enhancements, safe and reliable water services, improved river and coastal water quality, and a robust sewerage system.
