Owens Corning Appoints Doors Business Head
Owens Corning, a global leader in building and construction materials, today announced the appointment of Rachel Marcon as President of its Doors business, effective immediately. This strategic leadership change comes as Chris Ball, the current President, has decided to resign from the company to pursue another professional opportunity.
In her new role, Marcon will report directly to Brian Chambers, Chair and Chief Executive Officer of Owens Corning, and will also serve as a member of the company’s Executive Committee. Her appointment signifies Owens Corning’s commitment to strong leadership and continued growth within its Doors business segment.
Brian Chambers expressed his gratitude for the outgoing president’s contributions while welcoming Marcon to her new position. “I want to thank Chris for his contributions to our company. His leadership during the integration of the Doors business was an important step in our long-term growth strategy,” said Chambers.
He further emphasized his confidence in Marcon’s ability to lead the Doors business forward. “Over her nine-year career with Owens Corning, Rachel has impacted the growth and performance of our company in her various leadership roles. Rachel’s customer-focused approach, combined with her building and construction industry knowledge, will take the Doors business to the next level. She is a seasoned enterprise leader with a track record of advancing strategies and leading high-performing teams to deliver results,” Chambers added.
Rachel Marcon brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record of success to her new role. Most recently, she served as Vice President and General Manager of Owens Corning’s global nonwovens business, a position she held since 2021. In this capacity, Marcon was responsible for the overall growth and financial performance of the business, overseeing assets in both North America and Europe and serving a diverse global customer base within the building and construction markets.

Marcon’s journey with Owens Corning began in Europe in 2016 when she joined as Sales Director for nonwovens in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) region. Her strong leadership and strategic acumen led to her promotion to Business Director for nonwovens EMEA in 2019.
Prior to her tenure at Owens Corning, Marcon held the position of Global Sales Director at Euramax, a leading provider of coated aluminum and steel products. During her time at Euramax, she held various sales and marketing leadership roles, gaining valuable experience in the building and construction materials sector across both the United States and Europe. This deep understanding of the industry dynamics and customer needs will be instrumental in her new role leading the Doors business.
Chris Ball, the outgoing President of the Doors business, will remain with Owens Corning in an executive consultant capacity to ensure a smooth and seamless transition of his responsibilities to Rachel Marcon. His departure is scheduled for the end of May. This thoughtful approach underscores Owens Corning’s commitment to business continuity and a well-managed leadership transition.
Marcon’s appointment to the helm of the Doors business reflects Owens Corning’s strategic focus on leveraging experienced leaders with a strong understanding of the building materials industry. Her customer-centric approach, coupled with her demonstrated ability to drive growth and lead high-performing teams, positions her as an ideal candidate to capitalize on the opportunities within the Doors market.
The Doors business is a significant component of Owens Corning’s overall building products portfolio, offering a range of residential and commercial door solutions. Under Marcon’s leadership, the company aims to further strengthen its market position, enhance its product offerings, and deliver greater value to its customers. Her experience in managing global businesses and navigating diverse market landscapes will be crucial in achieving these objectives.
As a member of the company’s Executive Committee, Marcon will play a key role in shaping Owens Corning’s broader strategic direction and contributing to the company’s overall success. Her insights and perspectives from the Doors business will be valuable in the executive-level decision-making processes.
The transition in leadership is expected to be seamless, with Ball’s continued involvement as an executive consultant ensuring a smooth handover of responsibilities. This demonstrates Owens Corning’s proactive approach to managing leadership changes and maintaining operational efficiency.
