Major Deal Secures Homes for Locals in Oxfordshire
Persimmon Homes Wessex has officially marked its partnership with CBRE Investment Management on-site at Valley Park, a significant housing development in Oxfordshire. The collaboration also includes Pinnacle Group, which will serve as the registered provider for the site, alongside contributions from Airey Miller and the Vale of White Horse District Council. The initiative is aimed at providing quality homes for local residents while addressing the region’s housing demand.
This agreement will bring 59 newly constructed homes by Persimmon to the first phase of Valley Park. The addition of these homes will contribute to alleviating the housing waiting lists in the area, ensuring that more local families have access to modern and sustainable living spaces.
The announcement follows shortly after Persimmon Homes and Taylor Wimpey, the primary developers behind the expansive 4,254-home community, received planning approval for the first primary school at Valley Park. This school, which forms a vital part of the development’s northern phase, will feature a three-form entry primary school, a nursery, and dedicated spaces for community use.
Currently, Persimmon Homes has a variety of two, three, and four-bedroom homes available for purchase, starting at £245,995. These homes are designed with sustainability at their core, incorporating modern features such as air source heat pumps, electric vehicle charging points, and solar panels to reduce their environmental impact and improve energy efficiency.
Upon completion, the Valley Park community will Major benefit from an array of amenities designed to enhance the quality of life for residents. These include two primary schools, a special educational needs (SEN) school, local centers, and extensive sports facilities. Additionally, residents will have easy access to Didcot’s vibrant retail, dining, and service offerings.
Seb Spiller, Deputy Managing Director of Persimmon Homes Wessex, expressed enthusiasm about the agreement, stating, “We’re delighted to have finalized our agreement with CBRE Investment Management and Pinnacle to deliver homes for a local housing association at Valley Park. This development is a major one that will benefit thousands of families in Oxfordshire, and the significant proportion of it that will be reserved for housing associations is a core part of our mission to leave a positive and lasting legacy where we build. Persimmon looks forward to building on our partnership with Pinnacle at Valley Park.”
Cllr Diana Lugova, Cabinet Member for Planning at Vale of White Horse District Council, highlighted the importance of these homes, saying, “These modern homes at Valley Park, built with sustainability in mind, will make a key contribution to improving the availability of housing in the Vale. We know this is an important topic for our residents, and it is a huge priority for us.”
Echoing this sentiment, Cllr Sue Caul, Cabinet Member for Housing at Vale of White Horse District Council, praised the development’s commitment to sustainability, stating, “It’s encouraging to see the first of the new affordable homes ready to welcome residents. Their eco-features such as solar panels and air source heat pumps demonstrate our commitment to making the Vale a carbon-neutral district.”
