Build Kroger-Anchored Center: SDI Realty & Nexus Team Up in Fort Worth
Davidson Bogel Real Estate (DB2RE) is excited to announce the development of a Kroger-anchored retail shopping center in northwest Fort Worth. This new center is the result of a collaboration between Houston-based SDI Realty and Nexus Real Estate Co., who partnered to purchase the land and build a vibrant retail hub for the rapidly growing community.
The property, surrounded by newly built single-family neighborhoods, is situated within the Rancho Canyon community, developed by Miami-based Lennar Homes. Originally planned as a residential area, a portion of the land was repurposed to build retail amenities after discussions with Davidson Bogel Real Estate and SDI Realty. This shift highlights the evolving needs of the community and a focus on creating accessible conveniences for residents.
Building a Better Community
“This project is more than just adding a Kroger store—it’s about enriching the lives of those who call Rancho Canyon home,” said Greg Urech, President of Land – DFW for Lennar. “Working with SDI Realty and Davidson Bogel Real Estate has been an exciting journey to build a community-centric shopping center. This retail development is perfectly positioned to meet the needs of our residents and the broader northwest Fort Worth area.”
The future shopping center will be located at Rancho Canyon Road and Sendera Ranch Road, serving as a focal point for the surrounding residential communities. In addition to Lennar’s Rancho Canyon, major developments such as Centurion American’s Alpha Ranch—a 1,825-acre master-planned community with nearly 4,000 lots—and Greenbrick and Taylor Morrison’s Madero, a 2,500-home community, are situated nearby. These developments highlight the population growth in the area, making the Kroger-anchored center a timely and strategic addition.
Building Partnerships for Success
Ryan Turner, David Davidson Jr., Edward Bogel, and Collins Meier of DB2RE represented the partnership between SDI Realty and Nexus Real Estate Co. in acquiring a portion of the Rancho Canyon land for the shopping center. The project also involved securing an additional acre from Shaffer Construction, who had purchased four acres in 2022 from DB2RE. Shaffer plans to build a 7-Eleven gas station adjacent to the Kroger-anchored center, adding even more convenience for residents.
The collaboration underscores the importance of partnerships in building successful developments. The project’s stakeholders worked closely to ensure the shopping center meets the demands of the growing population while complementing the existing residential and retail infrastructure.
Building Retail to Meet Growing Demand
The site’s location is strategically positioned to address the increasing demand for retail services in northwest Fort Worth. As residential developments continue to expand, the Kroger-anchored center will provide a much-needed grocery component and other retail amenities for the community.
“Northwest Fort Worth is experiencing rapid residential growth, and we are thrilled to help build a retail solution that aligns with the needs of the residents,” said a representative from SDI Realty. “The Kroger-anchored shopping center will serve as a key asset in enhancing the quality of life for families moving into the area.”
The development is not only a win for residents but also an example of how retail and residential sectors can work together to build sustainable communities. By integrating retail into master-planned communities, developers are addressing the dual needs of convenience and quality living.
