Tutor Perini Corporation (NYSE: TPC), a leading construction company, announced that its subsidiary, Fisk Electric Company, has been awarded the first phase of a $147 million electrical services contract by McCarthy Building Companies, Inc. for the new Harris Health hospital at the Lyndon B. Johnson Hospital campus in Houston, Texas. The initial phase, valued at $29 million, involves electrical and fire alarm work for the core, shell, and tenant finish-out of the new hospital’s tower and podium.
Work on the project is set to begin in the fourth quarter of 2024, with full completion expected by late 2028. The new 12-story hospital will become Harris County’s third Level I trauma center, featuring 1.3 million square feet, 390 private rooms (with expansion capacity for 60 more), a rooftop helipad, 15 operating rooms, and a state-of-the-art hybrid operating room for complex emergency surgeries.
The $29 million awarded in this phase has been added to Tutor Perini’s backlog for the third quarter of 2024, with future phases to be added as they are awarded.
