AECOM, a leading global infrastructure consulting firm (NYSE: ACM), has announced that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has awarded a contract to an AECOM joint venture with Dewberry (known as NISTAC PLUS JV). This contract, known as the Public Assistance Technical Assistance V (PA-TAC V) contract, aims to provide public and technical assistance services to support FEMA’s Public Assistance grant program.
In this joint venture, AECOM will act as the managing partner. The primary objective is to collaborate with FEMA in processing grants that facilitate the restoration or replacement of public facilities following presidentially declared disasters and emergencies. The focus will be on assessing disaster damage and aiding applicants in identifying eligible losses. Notably, the contract is specifically tailored to support the Atlantic Zone, encompassing eight states, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands.
Beverley Stinson, CEO of AECOM’s global Water business, emphasized the increasing importance of innovative solutions in addressing the challenges posed by climate change. She expressed pride in FEMA’s continued trust in AECOM across various critical missions, spanning preparedness, mitigation, response, and recovery efforts.
The scope of work under this contract involves providing recovery assistance services to state and local governments as well as private non-profit organizations. This assistance encompasses a wide range of public infrastructure, including schools, hospitals, government buildings, roads, bridges, and utilities. Specific tasks include site inspection, technical assistance for the Public Assistance Community Disaster Loan program, program analysis, field technical support, cost estimating, and other technical services.
