Ardurra Expands Texas Water Infrastructure Expertise with eHT Acquisition

Ardurra Group, Inc., a leading engineering and consulting firm, has announced the acquisition of Enprotec/Hibbs & Todd, Inc. (eHT), a Texas-based engineering consulting company specializing in water and wastewater infrastructure services.

The acquisition strengthens Ardurra’s position in the Texas market while expanding its capabilities in water supply, treatment, transmission, wastewater, and other essential infrastructure projects. The combination brings together Ardurra’s national resources and eHT’s longstanding local expertise, technical capabilities, and relationships with public-sector and utility clients across Texas.

eHT Brings More Than 35 Years of Texas Experience

Founded in 1989, eHT has spent more than three decades providing engineering solutions to communities and utilities throughout Texas. The company operates from offices in Abilene, Granbury, and Lubbock, serving clients across the state.

Throughout its history, eHT has developed a strong reputation for helping communities address complex water and infrastructure challenges. Its work has focused heavily on water and wastewater engineering, areas that are becoming increasingly important as Texas continues to experience population growth, economic development, and long-term pressure on water resources.

The firm’s established relationships with public-sector organizations and utilities will complement Ardurra’s existing operations in Texas. The acquisition also provides Ardurra with additional technical talent and local knowledge that can support infrastructure investment across the state.

Expanding Water Infrastructure Capabilities

Texas continues to face significant demands for investment in its water infrastructure. Population growth and economic expansion are increasing demand for reliable water supplies, while communities must also plan for treatment capacity, wastewater management, transmission systems, and long-term resource availability.

Against this backdrop, the acquisition of eHT positions Ardurra to provide broader support to communities undertaking critical infrastructure projects.

By combining eHT’s specialized water and wastewater expertise with Ardurra’s wider engineering resources, the companies can offer clients access to expanded technical capabilities. The partnership is expected to support projects ranging from water supply and treatment to wastewater systems and related infrastructure improvements.

Ardurra President and CEO Ernesto Aguilar, PE, highlighted eHT’s reputation and the strength of its team as important factors behind the acquisition.

He said eHT has built a distinctive firm with talented professionals, strong client relationships, and a reputation that is well respected throughout Texas. According to Aguilar, welcoming eHT into Ardurra will help the combined organization continue supporting the state’s evolving water infrastructure requirements.

Focus on Clients and Communities

For eHT, joining Ardurra provides an opportunity to expand its capabilities while maintaining its commitment to existing clients and Texas communities.

Jordan Hibbs, president of eHT, said the company’s clients have continued to place significant trust in the firm and that demand for its services remains strong. He noted that becoming part of Ardurra will provide access to broader capabilities and expertise.

The combination is also expected to create additional opportunities for eHT employees. With access to Ardurra’s larger organization and resources, employees can benefit from expanded professional opportunities while continuing to work on projects serving local communities.

Importantly, eHT will continue operating from its existing offices in Abilene, Granbury, and Lubbock, Texas. Maintaining these locations allows the company to preserve its local presence and relationships while gaining the support of a larger engineering organization.

Supporting Texas’ Growing Infrastructure Needs

The acquisition comes at a time when water infrastructure has become a major priority for communities across Texas. Population growth is placing additional demands on existing systems, while changing economic conditions and long-term water supply concerns are encouraging communities to invest in resilient infrastructure.

Water and wastewater systems require continuous planning, maintenance, upgrades, and expansion to meet current and future needs. Engineering firms with specialized expertise can play an important role in helping municipalities and utilities develop practical solutions.

The addition of eHT strengthens Ardurra’s ability to respond to these requirements. Its experience with Texas communities gives the combined organization valuable insight into local infrastructure conditions and client priorities.

A Larger National Engineering Platform

Following the acquisition, Ardurra will have approximately 2,700 employees across more than 120 offices nationwide. The company is ranked No. 48 on Engineering News-Record’s Top 500 Design Firms list, reflecting its position within the U.S. engineering and design sector.

The acquisition of eHT forms part of Ardurra’s broader growth strategy and adds another established engineering team to its national platform. The transaction allows Ardurra to expand its technical depth while strengthening its geographic reach in one of the country’s largest and fastest-growing states.

For eHT, the partnership offers a balance between maintaining its Texas identity and gaining access to the resources of a larger organization.

As Texas continues to invest in water supply, wastewater treatment, and related infrastructure, demand for specialized engineering services is expected to remain strong. The combination of Ardurra’s national capabilities and eHT’s more than 35 years of Texas experience creates an expanded platform for addressing these challenges.

Both organizations are expected to focus on maintaining strong client relationships while delivering additional technical resources and solutions to communities across the state.

Morrissey Goodale, a management consulting and research firm specializing in the architecture, engineering, and environmental consulting industries, advised eHT on the transaction.

With eHT continuing to operate from its established Texas offices, the acquisition brings together local knowledge, specialized water expertise, and expanded national resources. The move strengthens Ardurra’s ability to support communities as they plan and invest in the critical water infrastructure needed for Texas’ continued growth.
