Property Guardian has announced a new partnership with KatRisk that will integrate Property Guardian’s advanced wildfire risk intelligence into KatRisk’s Perilfinder platform through a new API-based collaboration. The announcement was made during RIMS RISKWORLD 2026, one of the leading global events focused on insurance, risk management, and catastrophe analytics.

The partnership is designed to provide insurers, underwriters, and risk professionals with a more comprehensive and actionable view of wildfire exposure by combining near-term wildfire intelligence with long-term catastrophe modeling capabilities.

As wildfire risks continue to intensify across many regions due to climate change, drought conditions, urban expansion, and changing weather patterns, insurance companies are increasingly seeking more advanced tools to evaluate both immediate and future wildfire threats. The collaboration between Property Guardian and KatRisk aims to address this growing demand by bringing together real-time predictive insights and probabilistic catastrophe modeling into a single integrated workflow.

Under the partnership, Property Guardian’s wildfire intelligence datasets will be embedded directly into KatRisk’s Perilfinder platform using API integration. This will allow users to access enhanced wildfire analytics without needing to switch between separate systems or platforms.

The combined solution is intended to help insurers better understand where wildfire risks are emerging, how fires may evolve in the near term, and how specific properties or portfolios may be affected over time.

Property Guardian’s datasets focus on near-term wildfire behavior, active fire monitoring, moratorium decision support, and property-level resilience analysis. KatRisk’s catastrophe modeling platform complements these capabilities by offering a long-term, stochastic view of wildfire risk through simulations of thousands of potential catastrophic events.

Together, the companies believe these combined tools will provide insurers with a more complete perspective on wildfire exposure, supporting both immediate underwriting decisions and long-term portfolio management strategies.

As part of the integration, Perilfinder will include three major wildfire intelligence datasets developed by Property Guardian.

The scoring system analyzes a wide range of variables, including historical wildfire activity, vegetation patterns, environmental conditions, and surrounding fire behavior. Using this information, the system identifies regions that face elevated near-term wildfire risk and potential severity levels.

The second dataset integrated into Perilfinder is Property Guardian’s Wildfire Moratorium Insights API, which introduces dynamic short-term wildfire intelligence powered by five-day fire spread forecasting models.

Traditional wildfire moratorium approaches often rely on static geographic buffer zones around active fires, which can sometimes result in overly broad underwriting restrictions. Property Guardian’s system instead uses predictive modeling to estimate how active fires are expected to spread in real time.

The technology can also identify areas where fires are effectively contained, allowing insurers to make more precise decisions about when and where to apply temporary underwriting moratoriums.

According to the companies, this approach reduces unnecessary restrictions while still maintaining underwriting discipline and protecting insurers from rapidly escalating wildfire exposure during active events.

The third key dataset being added to Perilfinder includes Wildfire Resiliency Scores and Mitigation Modifiers.

These tools provide highly detailed, property-level insights into how individual locations may perform during wildfire events. The analysis draws from more than 150 separate datasets, including aerial imagery, geospatial analytics, environmental data, construction characteristics, and wildfire hazard models.

The scoring evaluates wildfire resilience across several levels, including the structure itself, the surrounding parcel, nearby community characteristics, and broader regional wildfire conditions.

Additional mitigation modifiers provide insurers with deeper analytical inputs for catastrophe modeling and advanced risk assessment workflows. These factors can help companies better understand how mitigation efforts, building materials, defensible space, and community-level preparedness may influence wildfire outcomes and potential losses.

By combining these near-term and property-level insights with KatRisk’s catastrophe modeling capabilities, users of Perilfinder will be able to move more seamlessly between immediate wildfire monitoring and long-term portfolio risk analysis.
