Suffolk Strengthens Leadership, Hiring Kevin Quigley as EVP of Strategy
Suffolk, one of the nation’s most innovative and forward-thinking builders, has announced the appointment of Kevin Quigley as Executive Vice President of Enterprise Strategy. In this senior leadership role, Quigley will guide strategic planning and execution across the organization, strengthening Suffolk’s position in key growth sectors and supporting continued national expansion. His appointment comes at a critical time for the company, which is actively scaling its capabilities and securing complex, high-profile projects in aviation, healthcare, life sciences, higher education, K-12 education, advanced manufacturing, and data centers.
Quigley brings extensive strategic and advisory expertise shaped by more than a decade with Choate, Hall and Stewart LLP, where he served as a Principal in the Litigation practice. During his tenure, he gained recognition as a trusted legal and business strategist for global biotechnology, pharmaceutical, and technology companies navigating high-stakes intellectual property and commercial disputes. His work frequently involved partnering with CEOs, board members, and executive leadership to align legal strategy with long-term business objectives—experience that will translate directly into his role advancing Suffolk’s enterprise strategy.
Notably, Quigley served as counsel to Eli Lilly and Company on initiatives within its Genetic Medicines business. He also acted as Head of Legal for Akouos, Inc., a clinical-stage gene therapy company acquired by Lilly. While at Akouos, he collaborated closely with senior leadership to move innovative therapies from research and development through pre-commercialization stages, while also managing global patent portfolios and overseeing integration activities following the company’s acquisition. His background at the intersection of law, innovation, and corporate strategy enables him to bring a disciplined but forward-looking perspective to Suffolk. His career story also carries personal meaning: he began in the industry as a Legal Intern at Suffolk, marking a notable full-circle return to the company.
In his new role, Quigley will work alongside Suffolk’s senior leadership and regional teams to advance a unified enterprise strategy that supports both near-term goals and long-term corporate priorities. This includes further development of core growth platforms such as Suffolk Design, Suffolk Technologies, and Suffolk Sustainability. He will also support Suffolk’s work to strengthen its integrated services model—an approach that delivers value at every stage of the construction lifecycle through the seamless application of innovative technology, data insights, and multidisciplinary expertise. The company’s vision centers on shaping the future of the built environment through collaboration, efficiency, and smart, technology-driven execution.
“At Suffolk, we are relentlessly focused on transforming the future of our industry through strategic thinking and innovation,” said John Fish, Chairman and CEO of Suffolk. “Kevin’s ability to navigate high-stakes environments and drive operational excellence will be a tremendous asset to our teams as our organization continues to grow. His experience across legal strategy, business leadership, and complex corporate environments uniquely positions him to help advance our long-term vision.”
Suffolk has built a reputation as one of the most successful builders in the United States and one of the nation’s largest privately held companies. The firm is widely recognized for its ability to deliver some of the most ambitious and technically complex construction projects across multiple markets. In the Boston region alone, the company has recently completed or continues to oversee several notable large-scale developments. These include the Boston University Center for Computing & Data Science, the largest net-zero carbon building in the Northeast; South Station Tower, a 51-story mixed-use development reshaping the city skyline; the modernization and expansion of Logan International Airport Terminal E; 585 Kendall in Cambridge, a 673,000-square-foot facility designed to support cutting-edge life sciences research; Winthrop Center, the world’s largest Passive House-certified office building; Encore Boston Harbor, the nation’s first five-star urban gaming resort; and the Hale Family Building at Boston Children’s Hospital, which features state-of-the-art neonatal and cardiac care environments.
Beyond its Boston headquarters, Suffolk continues to grow its national presence, operating in 16 markets across the United States. The company’s expanding portfolio includes transformative developments from coast to coast, such as the historic restoration of the Waldorf Astoria in New York; the 999-foot, supertall mixed-use tower at 520 Fifth Avenue in Manhattan; the iconic guitar-shaped Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood, Florida; and major renovations to the legendary Capitol Records building in Los Angeles. These signature projects demonstrate the company’s ability to manage highly specialized, architecturally significant, and technically demanding builds.
With Quigley’s appointment, Suffolk reinforces its commitment to industry leadership, strategic growth, integrated innovation, and delivering exceptional value for clients. His strategic expertise and experience guiding organizations through complex, high-growth environments will support Suffolk’s ongoing evolution as it continues to shape the future of construction in the United States and beyond.
