- Awards expanded from 8 winners last year to 14 this year, with the newly established “Construction AI Awards.”
- Next-generation safety technologies using AI, robotics, drones and other solutions to accelerate AX innovation at construction sites will be actively identified.

KINTEX will host the “2026 Construction & Safety Innovation Awards (K-Consafety Awards)” for exhibitors participating in the 2026 Korea Construction & Safety Expo (K-CONSAFETY EXPO 2026), which will take place this October. The awards are designed to identify outstanding technologies and products that can lead innovation in construction-site safety.
A key feature of this year’s awards is the launch of the new “Construction AI Awards,” reflecting the construction industry’s accelerating adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) and the expansion of smart-construction technologies.
As advanced technologies such as AI-based video analytics, robotics, drones and smart sensors are rapidly being adopted at construction sites, the safety-management paradigm is shifting from a response-focused approach after accidents occur toward predictive and preventive safety management based on data and AI.
In response, KINTEX has expanded the awards from eight winning entries last year to a total of 14 this year. Outstanding technologies and companies will be selected in three categories: six Innovation Technology Awards, six Construction AI Awards, and two ESG & Mutual Growth Awards.
The newly established Construction AI Awards will focus on identifying technologies that use ICT-converged solutions—including AI, robotics and drones—to detect risk factors at construction sites in advance, reduce workers’ exposure to hazardous conditions, or improve the efficiency of safety management.
The Innovation Technology Awards will recognize technologies with a high level of technical completeness and innovation, strong practical applicability, and significant potential impact on the industry. The ESG & Mutual Growth Awards will evaluate companies and programs that contribute to environmental sustainability and Mutual growth with small and medium-sized enterprises.
The evaluation will consist of a first-round document review followed by a second-round physical product assessment. A judging committee composed of experts from academia, the construction-safety industry and relevant technology fields will comprehensively assess technical completeness, innovation, marketability, practicality, originality and differentiation before selecting the final winners. Winning companies will receive a certificate and trophy, as well as one additional complimentary booth when participating in K-CONSAFETY EXPO 2027. Additional benefits include promotion through the online directory and a dedicated newsletter page, a special showcase of award-winning products at the exhibition, medal signage at winners’ booths, and promotion through press releases and social media.
KINTEX plans to develop the Construction & Safety Innovation Awards beyond a conventional technology awards program into a platform that supports the on-site adoption and market development of outstanding technologies. Through the program, KINTEX aims to introduce leading safety technologies to major construction companies, public-sector contracting authorities, local governments, facility-management organizations and construction-safety professionals visiting the expo, and to connect these technologies with actual purchases and field deployment.
Syng-bom Kim, Director of the KINTEX Safety Industry Exhibition Center, said, “At construction sites, advanced technologies such as AI and robotics are rapidly evolving beyond auxiliary safety-management tools into core technologies that can predict accidents and separate workers from hazardous tasks. Through the newly established Construction AI Awards, we will actively identify technology companies capable of leading AX in Korea’s construction-safety sector and support both the on-site adoption and market entry of their outstanding technologies.”
The 2026 Construction & Safety Innovation Awards are open to exhibitors participating in the 8th Korea Construction & Safety Expo. Applications will be accepted by August 28th. Winners will be selected following the first-round document review and second-round physical product assessment, with the final results scheduled to be announced on September 21st.
The awards ceremony will be held at KINTEX on October 16th during the Korea Construction & Safety Expo.
Meanwhile, K-CONSAFETY EXPO 2026 will be held at KINTEX from October 14th to 16th, showcasing the latest safety technologies for construction and industrial sites, including AI-based safety management, smart construction, robotics and drones, underground safety, construction machinery and attachments, and demolition technologies.
